I am not sure if this is the place to post this but here goes:
My 1999 ford f250 7.3 diesel is running ruff at idle. It wont accelerate properly. I have replaced the fuel heater air filter changed the oil and oil filter. The strange thing is that when I was at idle I blead my lines down no air came out. Thinking I might have air in the system I opened the valve on my fuel bowl and my truck idled up and quit running ruff. I got in my truck and pressed on the accelerator and my truck accelerated but my vale was still open spraying fuel on the ground. I closed the valve and my truck idled ruff again. I opened the valve and my truck idled up and quit shaking and idling ruff. If anyone could help or make a suggestion I would really appreciate it
is ther a check engine light on? if so I would have it scanned. had a similar problem on my 2000 excursion, it scanned "ground fault on glow plug" and then later "cylinder miss" turned out to be a loose connector to the glow plugs and injectors under the vavle cover. The were replaced and wire clipped.. if left to long I was told it could mess up an injector ($300) and ultimately the injector driver motor ($900) have it if looked at.
