1989 5.0 Eddie Bauer have an electrical DRAIN, charge the battery it holds
ad the negative it holds ad the positive it starts to drain in about 8hrs the battery is dead.........is there a common bad cable? Started pulling fuses have not stopped the flow HELP!!!!!!! starting to lean twoward ignation (key switch)
any ideas will help
Pull the fuse (both) for your stereo (the stereo is a constant draw), take off either your positive or negative battery cable, put a amp meter or test light between the two and one at a time pull fuses. When the amp draw goes away or the light does not light any more then you have found the problem. You also need to trace any wiring that comes directly off of the battery, you could have a relay or solenoid sticking also.
You also could just have a bad battery.
My 2 cents worth. D
Dirty battery terminals will act like that too. The car will run fine when the alternator is charging but when you try to send 40 amps to the starter, the dirty terminals will have too much resistance; but the solenoid will click so it sounds like the battery is dead. Clean your battery terminals with a wire brush and check the condition of your cables.
