will the rear springs of of a 1978 f-150 bolt up under my 69 f-100? I've got a free set if they will?

Probably not, the 1978 F-150 should be 3" wide and your F-100 is most likely 2.25 (at the spring) - 2.50 inches (at the shackle) wide. Then there is length, that is probably different too.

so what years will fit under my truck? replacements are 350 bucks a side and $700 is more than I have into the whole truck so far. It's hard to justify.

Have the springs re-arched - likely any used spring you buy will be in the same shape as the originals. You can also add a leaf to make your truck stand tall.

Try this place:
KC SPRING 816-421-3010
1631 CHERRY, KC MO, 64108

Tell Jim "Hi" and that a Scoutmaster with an old scout bus sent you.

They can pull the springs, install new bushings etc etc so quick it will make your head spin. MUCH less trouble than doing it yourself. This is like exhaust work, let the shop do it rather than busting your knuckles! Of course if bucks are tight they can still re-work your springs. Just let them figure out what to do. They have been doing springs for a LONG time.

Thanks for your help guys, I grew up in KC and know KC Springs...in fact they were my first option. Due to the age of the springs the fellow on the phone told me that he would recommend just replacing them. I've already got 3 leafs broken..but I really can't afford new ones. It drives fine I just can't haul anything. I guess I'm just looking for an easy answer. THanks for your suggestions though.

Torqe1st....I'm an Eagle with one palm and orange paint on my claws (if you visited the same camp as I did).

Thanks again guys!!

I know I'm bringing this one back from the dead, but KC spring says they don't work on anything older than 15 years old now. They will rework your spring pack if you bring it in, but they won't touch a vehicle as old as my '72 F100. Just some information I got, so I thought I would pass it along to save someone some time and a phone call.
