im having trouble getting my dipstick(transmission)in,it gets stuck about 3 inches out...we tried to cut the tip/sharpen the tip but it still gets stuck. plus my transmission leak fluids so i need to check it but i cant get it in....can anyone help me?
Thx Tim
Is the dip stick straight? Check against a straight edge. Nextif this was not the case the best thing would be to pull the transmission pan and look at the bottom where the dip stick inters the pan. While you are at it change the fluid & filter.

This is Tim's brother... It's a 2.9 V6 and the part number for the dipstick is as follows: E57P-7A020-CA
My father, Tim, and myself are all baffled by this problem. It feels like it's catching on something on the way down... Sometimes if you jam it in there just the right way, it'll go down further, but will still get stuck about 2-3" out, and it's impossible to get any kind of reading, which, with the transmission leak, could prove to be a serious problem in the near future. Hopefully we can get this problem resolved. Keep the ideas coming guys
