I gotta say, I liked my old Q-jet too....it was on my old 66 Chevy with a mild 350...I didn't every touch it except to swap intakes....whoever put it on did it right because it was spot on...started NOW...idled great even when cold...guess I was lucky. Gotta 600 holly on my 390 now and I am equally lucky. Now, the Eldelbrock intake I have is poo poo.

My holley is great! I am still tweaking it, but thats what I like to do. Spending time with my truck sure beats cleaning the house. 
So far the mileage is about the same with the holley, maybe a little worse. But the power is just awsome! Great throttle response, starts immedialy and much better low-end. Im never looking back its holley from now one!
