Holley or Edelbrock
Ok, I am trying to buy parts for my fe 390 rebuilt, I posted the parts on the FE forum. I was thinking to get a Edel carb. but some people suggested the Holley, so now I am confused, which carb should I get, is one better than the other. The carb is about 600-650 cfm, I was planning on the Edel 1406, if the Holley is reccomended whichone should I get.

I have had great luck with the Edelbrock carbs.
Both are good. The Edelbrock carbs are easier to tune and usually get a bit better mileage and throttle response. Holleys make a little more power, with less economy.
Personally, I would use the 1406.

If that's the case i would go with a holley hands down. Holley was born and made for street/strip. Edelbrock is a good carb, yes. But it was made for universal usage (from mudd to street, hauling) and would not got well with street/strip (in my opion) because the floats are vertical and with speed can cause a lack of fuel, whereas with holley the floats are horizonal causing the fuel to level itself in extreme acceleration....again this is just my opinion, but i also know from experiance.
