Have the 300 I6. Seems to have an internal coolant loss problem. If I put coolant/water in the resevoir, it disappears after driving. I have also noticed after turning the truck off I can hear what sounds like water running/gurgling. Checked the oil and it doesn't seem to be going there. What could be the cause of this. The system does need flushed and I going to try to do that tomorrow.
if you can't find it leaking externaly
like from the water pump, hoses, radiator, etc.
then it may be going thru the exhaust
if it is , then the exhaust, would be white if burning antifreeze
don't think water shows up in any color tho.
but it sounds like its using alot , if its gurgling, water running
but not sure how far you have driven, and the conditions in which you are using the truck .
I just drive it normally. To and from work and around town. I don't really haul anything or pull anything. I just hope its not the head gasket. Hopefully I can flush the cooling system and change the oil tomorrow and get a better idea of what is happening.
