Coolant psi 19-20 psi

I noticed coolant puking a few months ago, I installed egr delete and oil cooler, seem to be good for about 2 weeks now the coolant seems to be puking worse. It is straight distilled water as I wanted to make sure the problem was fixed before I filled with elc, but it turns a light brown color in about one day and kind of foamy after driving all day. I checked the coolant psi while warming up (with "high idle mod") and within 5 mins it went to 20 psi. From what I read the head gaskets seem to be the problem? My question is, is it going to get worse? I was supposed to be heading out of town for 2 weeks for work.

Sounds like head gasket failure to me.

If it's turning brown and foamy, it could also be a leaky oil cooler.

Yes it is. The brownish color you're seeing could also be rust since you have no coolant in there.

It is a new oil cooler, and there is no oily residue floating in the degas, so I am hopeing that is not the problem. It is a very light brown, foam is noticeable in the degas after long drives.

Def. head gaskets. Big problem i see continuing to drive it is if you puke coolant not knowing, the system will get low and the motor overheats. Bad deal... Do you have any way of monitoring water and oil temps? This way you can make sure your water temp is always in check. Also if you can monitor these you may tell if your oil coolers shot again. But unless your seeing white smoke from exhaust i highly doubt thats the case.

How much worse? I hate it when people ask these stupid questions, but now I am in their shoes. I am obligated to go out of town today. It is about 2.5 hrs to where I need to go and over the next 2 weeks I will probably put 1500 miles on it. I think the head gaskets have been leaking for about 10k miles.

I don't see any smoke from the tail pipe, I will order the scangauge from autozone when I get there, and I have no problem pulling over frequently to check the coolant level.

You can develop pits in the block deck w/ leaking head gaskets.

to Grantpage, It may very well be cheaper to rent something and leave your truck at home. No good can come from continuing to use it.
