Why do you limit yourself to the C4 or C6? There are plenty of companies now building some tough AOD's too, that gets you a 4-speed auto.... The C4 can be built up pretty good and will take less off your motor than a C6. The C6 is definitely the bad boy on the block though if you plan on hitting it with 400-500HP.
What are you going to use it for? If towing or hauling, C6. More stronger, more better
Did you guys know that Big Foot with it's super high horsepower engine still uses the C6? They do upgrade it and it is admittedly their weakest link, but that's pretty impressive if you ask me.

it wont be towing or hauling anything, just a street truck that will have around 350hp at the rear wheels. im not really into the AOD's and i'd like to stick with something simple like the c4 because its smaller and doesnt take as much away from the motor as a c6 would. the motor is being built to perform in the 2,000 to 6,500 rpm ranges with 3.50 gears in the rear end.
A C4 should be fine in your application. Companies are building these things now days to handle some serious horsepower. I saw a C4 behind a radical 460 a while ago.
