making around 475hp-in a truck maybe going to tow 5000lbs or so-what would i have to do to a c-4 to handle the power would it be worth the change from a c-6?
There is a C4 bell for the 460 but can cost a pretty penny. When I forst saw one I thought it was an FMX tranny or something else but later learned they are C4 trannys. My buddy stll has the complete tranny.
The C6 is by far a stronger tranny and in stock form can handle what you are building. A C4 on the other hand would need some cash put into it to make it stronger. IMO the few HP one can save using a C4 over the C6 wouldn't be worth the cost of building the C4.
I am also not sure if this 460 C4 bell tranny set up will actualy swap with a small block C4. My guess is that it will or it wouldn't be called a C4 bell.
The C4 is a tough little transmission, but I don't know if it will take the abuse from a built 460. Your going to be better off with the C6. If you want more performance from it put in a shift kit.
