Imported 92' Bronco: Servicing Guide
Air Filter
Oil Filter
Engine Oil
Fuel Filter
Plugs
Spark Leads
Dizzy Cap
Rotor arm
Transmission Oil
XFer Box Oil
Diff/ Axle Oils
Is there a replaceable filter on the Transmission / Xfer box?
Maybe need brake pads/ shoes too.
Serpentine Belts (how many?)
A/C Filter?
Any thing else? I know getting fluids in the US is not feasible.
Thanks
Simon.
what size motor is in it?
You're probably right about the cost. For your '92 you should need
one serpentine belt
air filter
pcv filter (inside the air cleaner box)
oil filter and oil
transmission filter and fluid
extra trans fluid for the transfer case - no replaceable filter on the BW1356
Distributor cap and rotor
Plugs
Plug leads
diff oil, enough for front and back
Pads and shoes for the brakes if necessary
no a/c filter applicable
PCV valve - cheap
Probably $160. 00 US for these hard parts, not including fluids.
Fluid changes are pretty easy - the trans is straightforward, the rear axle has drain and fill ports, the transfer case has drain and fill ports, and the front axle only has a fill port. Why? I don't know. It's probably a good idea to dismount and regrease the front wheel bearings - there is a special socket for this. it might be hard to come by in the UK. It has four prongs to engage the unique front wheel bearing nuts on a Dana 44 axle. I have a Haynes manual for my Bronco, and it has always provided good info. The retourqing procedure is tricky on the front wheel bearings - ask us when you get that far. I bought a non-runner in California, then fixed it and drove it across the country - with no problems at all. I love the Bronco - I've always been curious how it would stack up against the mighty Land Rover - you'll have to let us know!

Approached by spotty teenager assistant(ahem): "Can I help you Sir?"
Reply: Either "I doubt it" or "I don't know, shall we see?" usually followed by "No didn't think so"
Thanks for the info. I'll let you know how I get on with the parts location.
As for comparison to the landrover its going to take some getting used to: The main differences I can tell so far are:
Bronco: Part time 4wd, Landrover: Full time
Bronco: Independant and leaf spring suspension, Landrover: Coils all round on live beam axles
Bronco: Too wide for some English green lanes, Landy; Small enough to get anywhere.
Bronco: 18-20mpg, Landrover: 14mpg!
I'll let you know how I get on when it ships over in a month or so.
