Trying to figure out issues with my 1995 Ford Bronco. I just recently had a diagnostics test done and a few things changed out....timing, distributor cap replaced, but since the change out my truck is worse. It seems as if it wants to cut out on me as I'm going about 5 to 10 miles per hour. It seems to rev itself as I am driving. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
who did the work, are the wires in the correct firing order. what was the timing set to. if its reving itself while your driving it could be tranny slipage or your tps or iac needing attention. swing by a parts store and ask them to check the codes its free. then let us know what it comes up with. after you do this you might disconnect pos battery cable for 15mins and let the ecu power down then reconnect and drive for about 30 mins so the computer can relearn . but seriously if you payed someone to do work on it and it drives worse id go back screaming.
I took it into Precision Auto Repair, but I may think about going to someone else. I've thought about a Ford Dealer Repair place, but I don't know what the $$$ will be. I know that the timing was done according to specs, but I was told that they should've changed it according to mileage....(does it matter?) I'll check with a auto store on the codes. The idle at times sounds really low and then really loud. Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to try these things. Wish me luck. Yeah they had a ear full in regards to my truck sounding worse, funny thing is when the mechanic went on a ride with me and I pointed out the obvious he couldn't feel a damn thing. Hows that for a mechanic.
