1989 B2 2.9 too hot?
Hi there is so much usefull info on here didn't get through it all this time. Just picked up a 1989 2.9 did great on the test drive now have it home an cannot go 15 miles before if loses power starts backfiring and gets real loud. Has glass packs so when I say real loud I mean real loud. Temp says cool engine feels hot. Starts ticking when it does this. Have already done oil change and checked and filled fluids. Have air filter plugs and all ready to go on just haven't gotten that far yet and connot hardly drive it. A duh question what are CATS. Only thing I can figure is Catalytic converter. Haven't gotten the book yet so running blind and to beat all my hubby stuck me with fuel injection, something I know next to nothing about because I would never buy anything but a carb. Anyway to put one on this beast, preferrably 4bbl. Any and all imput is a help at this point.
