Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me figure this one out. I recently bought a 89 BII 4x4 with a 2.9L . The engine was bogging down real bad when taking off. So I started with the basics.. I checked the air filter and was in the process of replacing the cap and rotor. But that's when things went wrong I suppose, Now that I have the new cap and rotor in, it won't start. I am going to check the timing tomorrow afternoon, but was wondering why it won't start when all I did was remove and replace the parts? If anyone can shed some light on this problem I'd be grateful.
When I try to start it, it'll turn over but won't actually start. it'll just sit there and turn over.
Oh and has anyone every heard of a fan falling off? I haven't been completely through this truck yet, but while trying to get it to start today, the fan just fell off?? I've never had this happen to me before.

Yes, it was simple remove and replace. everything is back the way it was on the old cap. I even double checked the firing order after it wouldn't start the first time. And as far as the fan, it just unscrewed itself. I'm just glad I wasn't driving it when it happened.
