I do 12 hr shifts as well...1830-0600 and vice versa. 4 days, then 48hrs off, 3 nights then the weekend off, 3 days, then 48 hrs off, 4 nights, then 5 1/2 days off, 4 8hr days and then 6 days off and then start all over again...a vicious cycle.
I used to work in an oil field. They burned natural gas to generate electricity and produce steam for injection wells. Some of the gas pipelines were huge. I would be standing next to one listening to the noise, thinking that if there was a leak, I was a goner.
I could agree on the suits. Cotton tops are usually bad by accident...just age. Happens sometimes.
Suits.....well.......they just get like that cause you aint #1.....they are.
The suits that really get me.....the ones driving with their jackets on, creasing the back all nasty before they even get to work. Just another pet peeve of mine. I got a few dozen of those pet peeve things.
I worked midnights for......7 years at the phone company then 4 to 12 for 13 years. That messed me up for good. I then worked days for 10 years. Now it is back to 4 to 12. It is just not the same.
I had one the other day had his cell phone in one hand cup of coffee in the other driving with his knee cut me off. Then when I blew the air horn at him, he slowed down and called me a .. I was unaware HE OWNED the road I always forget the suit in the expensive sports car has right of way over a big truck
I'm fortunate that the Gas transmisson pipe line from Canada comes through my town. This allows us to have the benefit of natural gas out in the boonies where most people have to buy and store propane. There are two huge lines.
We picked a suit up once about 0830 a few years back...speaking of coffee......
This guy just got finish having his vintage Porsche rebuilt.....driving it to work to show off.
He spilled his coffee, bent down to save the interior.....drove off the road.....destroyed the car. Now I'm not one to wish things on people.....but that was funny......man had a wonderful attitude as we hauled him off to the hospital.
