I just bought a keyless entry pad from Ford.I am having no luck installing it I did the whole off-run thing 8 times and on the eigth time nothing happens, anyone else install one of these? If so I dgreatly appreciate some pointers,Thanks
I just put one on mine last week. It reset the first time, locks locked/unlocked, but I didn't get the fob pushed, so I redid it and nothing, 8 times 10 times, nothing. I did it 8 times one last shot, no locks working, but went ahead and hit the keypad with the numbers and it locked unlocked the doors, then I just followed with both fobs. Working great.
Mine looks like a wart growing on my door. I think the '05 keypad is embedded again.
It is definetly used at my house. Always getting something out of the truck but leaving keys in the house. Especially happens when working in the garage or kids leaving back packs and such in the truck.
Thanx for the help guys,I tried 10 times and still nothin.Im about to rip it off the door and send it into a low orbit, should be a little easier to install.
The 04 Keypad is wireless. It's just like a key fob, battery and everything. Mine came with it, and I like it. My only disappointment is that it isn't hard-wired.
Now that you mentioned it...possible bad pad battery could be the reason nastyss is having programming problems. Directions for replacing the battery are in the manual I believe.
Nastyss, Take it back to Ford and have them give it a try. If they can't get it to work get another one. I bought mine off ebay, after another FTE member wrote about his, and installed it no problem. Don't give up, I use mine all the time but I wish they had been a factory hardwired option like on the Excursions.
