Gauge Installation
Hay guys not so sure if this belongs here. what 12v dash wire should i tap into to wire my autometer gauges? this makes them dim correct? is the *** that turns on the light the best place to tap to allow the gauges to dim? thx

That's where I tapped into mine at. It was the easiest. Pulled the light switch out, found the right wire, done.
here's a good write up on it, it's for a diesel but it was the same on my 99 V10

water temp gauge
Hay thx for help i got that pull out of dash now, don't really want to play with it untill i finish re installing harness don't need any shorts.
the question i have now is where is the stock water temp probe located? i found the oil pressure one by mistake.

Hay there are 4 wires on the slide switch dimmer. can you tell me the color of the one you tap into? Also is the stock temp gauge a probe in the block? or is there a radiator sensor? I found a black sensor i believe to be stock temp. if you are looking at the engine from the front it is on the right side in 1st cylinder? Any ideas guys?
