Aftermarket Gauge Sensor Locations

I'm doing to do a gauge install on a friends 06/6.0 this weekend and was wondering if someone can tell me where the best place to install the Water temp senor would be. For the transmission gauge, I believe the 5r has a port on the DS that can be removed for the Trans sensor correct? Also the best place to tap in for power for the gauges and to be able to dim the gauges along with the dash bezel gauges.. Any pic's would help. I tried to find this info, but just not sure where to tap in for the Water temp sensor. Thank you.

Using an OBD digital type gauge, he would be able to monitor more than just a couple items... any thoughts to that type of a gauge?

Sorry about that. I'm connecting 2 Autometer gauges 1 being the Trans Temp, and the other a Water Temp gauge. He has an Edge CTS installed that monitors quite a bit of parameters, but the truck came with an A pillar pod as well with 4 autometer already gauges installed in it. He just bought the truck last weekend also. I left this part out. The guy he bought the truck from, didn't finish the guage install so my buddy asked me for help. I'm very familiar with the 7.3's 99-03 as I own 3 of them and have done gauge installs on them, just don't know the 6.0 to well. 2 of the 4 are landed, and the other 2 are not being the T-temp and the Wtr Temp. Non of them are wired to come on with the dash lights either. So this is why I asked about tying in to a power source as well.
