Yours reads the same as mine and i have tested it uphill in sand and it is not a L/S. I know this because I have a 4.10 L/S in the back and the plate & door have codes with SL & D7. It is rare that ford put L/S in front. If you don't see an L or D in the plate code up front it ain't there!! Your rear may be L/S but it not worth much because Fords traclok is weak. I know this cause I got stuck in snow with 1 rear wheel in dirt and the other on snow and the L/s didn't help, only on dry rocks and dirt with alot of gas will the L/S grab a little.

As for the Trak-lock from Ford being weak to the extent that you discribed... Trak-lock is not performance rated but is good for what it is intended to do. If yours is weak, I suggest having the clutches checked for wear and contamination and weakness and wear in the pre-load spring. There is a torque spec for the TL unit in which the clutches will break free at. Well conditioned and maintained, they're quite reliable. I have it in mine and live in the mountains. It never fails me and gives me excellent traction to the non slipping wheel or alternating traction in both mud and snow.
On another note: don't trust the door tag unless you've had the truck since day one. Go by the code tag on the differential itself to identify it.
For a quick check, jack it up so that both wheels are off the ground. Lock the hubs and turn a wheel. If the other wheel turns in the same direction at the same time then it is LS. If not, it may still be LS but non-functional.
