The twin kits are actually available, but the interals and studs are not...the engine simply will not endure it without the parts. I am still waiting on rods, pistons, and most importantly head studs.

I will post my time slips from tonight, which are just ungodly, but then again I have no 3rd and 4th gear right now, since I apparently ripped something out on my third pass. I will post the slips in a day or two along with a report on my transmission, as it will be in the shop for the next few days starting tomorrow.
could you point me in the direction of a set of twins, been looking for some for a few weeks now, every one i talk to doesnt know how to do away with the variable vane turbo programming ,keep getting check engines and massive defuels, could you point me in the right direction.as far as rods corrillo will make a custom set of rods for any application. the pistoms i am cross referencing on marine an ag applications to see what i come up with

Any update on times from the run, and more details on what happened?

Thanks

Is this extremely hard on the transmission? Sounds like something I want to try. Anything to help hold a little more power.

It is horrible on the shift solenoids, due to the fact that they are seeing FULL, unregulated line pressure. I only did it as a last ditch attempt to keep the transmission in one peice for the runs that I made and I would recommend against doing it.

As for my runs and time slips, I am not planning on posting them. The only thing that will ensue is a long list of arguments, flaming, and the such...from the few people here that enjoy stirring things up. I REALLY REALLY want to, trust me, its just not in the best interest of peace here

I will tell you this much...it was wheel hopping in 4 wheel drive to the 330ft mark.

I ended up burning the 3rd gear clutches out on the 3rd pass, but didn't do any serious damage. I have my other transmission in the truck, and the one that was damaged has already been repaired.

Well, I've been flamed before, and I'm sure ill enevitably get flamed again...so I don't suppose it matters

Since I don't have my timeslips on here yet I'll just quote generally (besides the fact that I'm too fat and lazy to get off my butt and go look)

This is all 1/8th mile... I have no idea how it would fair in the quarter
JUST SCMT, nothing else- flat 9's
SCMT and water/meth-8.4 to 8.5 (see gallery, these are already there)
Just Edge module- 8.7
Edge and water/meth- 7.8
Edge, water/meth, borrowed propane system, and a SERIOUS weight reduction- 7.3 to 7.4

Edge, water/meth, borrowed propane system, and a serious weight reduction when third gear decides to give way - about 14 second 1/8th mile

I'll get the rest of the slips in soon...until then, the flamers can go float and sputter somewhere else

If you will notice though, the water injection is making just a few 10ths shy of a full second on average, every time Even more than what the propane made (although I have only made two runs with it, and probably won't use it again until I get something to keep the clutches together)

I do, however, believe that these 1/8 mile times will APPEAR better than thier corresponding 1/4 mile times; just as mentioned in an adjacent thread, the higher speeds start having more of an effect on the aerodynamics of a truck like an SD.

Woah- I just checked the conversion chart listed in the other thread....I just do not see this thing turning below 12 on the 1/4 (which is what it shows as corresponding to a 7.4 1/8th). I would say aerodynamics would just screw that time all to peices.

DARN....
there you guys go spending my money again !!!

gotta get one of those water injections systems
it has the sound of "safer" to me than propane....
any idea of HP/torque improvement with water ?

where's that darn water/meth thread and my reading glasses

when you say flat 9, you mean 9.0 as a starting point for the serious tweaking ?

Thanks !
J
that's not a bad baseline at all !!!!
