I Have tried to contact Banks several times about getting my Big Hoss chip reprogrammed for my computer code(apx1) but for some reason have had no response. Does anyone know where to send the chip and how much it usually cost to have this done? I have already installed the intercooler, exhuast, compressor wheel, turbine housing and bighead actuator. I really need some info on where to send the chip. I've heard you just send it back to banks but, I didn't know where to or who to since I bought it from a third party.
I'll just do this once, since they are not a sponsor of this site, but you've already bought the stuff and put it on.
Here's thier website: http://www.bankspower.com/
I've got everything you just installed and i find that sometimes when you talk to the sales guys some of them are more helpful the the rest of the tech guys. Call this number 800.601.8072. Its their order line to their main building out in Cali. As for the salesman named Jason.. I think he's at ext 125 or 425, but I could be wrong. He was very helpful with anything I ever needed and he was able to sometimes speed things up on the tech side of things... Hope that helps atleast a little..
If anything he'll give you the correct number for who you need and the address to send it to.
I called Banks today and they said to send it back to be reflashed. They told me that it could only be reflashed for the 120 hp setting because of the computer code. That doesn't seem right to me. Has anyone else had that problem? I wanted to set it to 100 but another 20 won't matter that much. Does anyone know if the 120 setting is bad on the engine or are they all about the same. Someone told me that the 100 hp setting still helped with the fuel mileage and didn't cause the engine life to be shorter. Everything I've read about the 120hp setting said it was for the person who pretty much didn't care about engine life or fuel mileage. That is definetly not me. Will the 120 tear up my truck? What does everybody else recommend?

I can't give you 100% of the tech side but here's how I see it. Alot of fuel econ. is the driver itself anyway. From the sounds of it you preffer to drive it less agressive unless needed. I don't think that the extra 20hp will effect you at all. Being that you have the rest of the package done I'd want it to be as big as possible myself.
Now, from what i'm told by banks is that they are or will soon be working on a setup that ties into the PowerPack kit that allows you to adjust the levels just like the 6 gun does. In which case your worries would be solved. You might want to ask them about that. I have them sending me an e-mail when it comes out. When I get it I'll be sharing it on here.
That would be great if they came out with a switch for the powerpack. I almost sold my big hoss and got a ts 6 position chip. I heard that a ts was nothing but a overboost chip and I really didn't want to mess with it. Thanks for all the info.
