ATF in manual tranny
Doing the clutch in my I6 4 speed SROD, I noticed the tranny had ATF in it. It's always been a noisy tranny, and I've only checked for fluid level in the past. When I called the parts dept at my local Ford dealer I was told this was correct, ATF for this tranny. Still it puzzles me, looking for a 2nd opinion.

I think the srod tranny calls for 80 wgt. transmission oil. It is very difficult to find, so the dealership I retired from uses 90 wgt synthetic. (not multigrade 80/90 or 75/140)
