The article mentioned headgear for racing motorcycles, -at 200MPH it does not matter what type of protective gear you have on. My wife saw a guy lose his leg in a 35 MPH zone on a motorcycle a few months ago. Apparently a telephone pole guy wire or a fence sliced it right off at the hip. I never heard what speed he was going tho.
The fastest I've ever gone was about 130 in a 280Z. I was thumbing home from college for the weekend and got picked up by a dude in a new 280Z. He started winding it out and asked if I minded. Happy not to be walking 100 miles from home as evening approached, and being a stupid 19 year old, I said, "heck no". As my bad luck would have it, the nut job driving tried to commit suicide by yanking the wheel to slam into a overpass pylon. We flipped and slid on the roof for about a 1/4 mile. Ended up with few scratches, some missing hair from the sparks and two bruised hands from beating the snot out of him until the state troopers showed up. My folks sued the guy but he was found insane (duh!) and thus without culpability.
I definetly would have helped him grant his wish !!!!
And how is it that you could be judged not competent to stand trail but you're competent enough to try to KILL someone ?!!?!?
I have a easy standard that will put all these expert witnesses out of business ...
if you are aware enough to do some crime - then you are aware enough to suffer the consequences... just like the victim and the families of the victims have to suffer the consequences !!!!!!!!!!!!!
just wondering if it is possible for a honda 1000 to do over 200 mph without serious modifications??? i really cant imagine a bike with that kind of stock top end. seems like there would be lots of top end that no one would ever use. just wondering??? bet they will have a hard time sticking him with this if he can prove the bike cant go that fast. hope someone keeps us up to date on the situation
Kmh or MPH? Either, roads like that with driveways and level to fields make me nervous.....Can you say "Farmall"?
I think a Honda 1000 would need some mods to pull 205....Keep in mind this guy clocked him with a watch and white lines on the road. I doubt it was within 20 or 30 MPH.
Hey my truck is running rough and my check engine light came on! Any suggestions on what the problem could be? O2 sensor? PCV valve? EGR? Vacuum leak? it has the 5.0 w/ EFI and I want to get the cats checked out too but dont want to waste the time if that's not the problem. Please help me. it's an 88 f150 xlt lariat 2wd
