There is no question that the Ford Ranger needs to be redesigned. It needs to be bigger and restyled. What do you guys think of putting a Front Wheel Drive version into production?
Sorry, but I think the ranger should stay a rear wheel drive. There are enough front wheel drive vehicles on the market now, there are very few rear wheel drives made now.
I have wondered about this. If they can make cars front wheel drive why can't they do the same with pick-ups. They would be a bit lighter in the back and a bit heavier in the front but why hasn't it been done. I wouldn't be the first on my block to buy one. I would wait a year or two to see how they hold up first.
Another innovation I would be interested in is the plastic fenders like some of the Ch**ys have. Not much I hate more than rust.

Most people who buy pickups use them to tow things, boats, campers, work trailers, etc.
Front wheel drive is no good for towing.
When you put weight on the hitch, you put weight on the rear wheels and take weight off the front wheels.
Not too good for traction if front drive.
