well, as some of you may know, i have a 75 f250 that i've been working on for the past year or so. i've had some problems with people throwing stuff at the windshield and now i have a few stars, but thats no big deal as i have another piece of glass for it. tonight, it got more intense. i havent run the truck in about a week due to the rain we've been getting. i went out to start it up tonight and all it did was turn. the gas gauge was on E so i went to the station and got 5 gallons of gas for it. i got back, filled it up, and tried again to start it. i discovered i have to replace my wire to my starter with something heavier since this wire melted while i was turning it. nothing was happening though. this is a truck that looks horrible, but has reliably started every time i want it to. i started checking wiring to see if anything else had melted. what do i find? someone has unplugged my coil and my gas tank. i'm extraordinarily mad about this, so the truck is leaving my girlfriends house and going home to my parents house so i can work on it there. i gotta arrange for a flatbed in the morning. thanks for lissening to my gripe guys, it's just getting irritating with the windshield and now someone messing with the wiring.
You can never have anything nice without having to worry about it. I go to Ohio State (but I am from Cleveland) and would never even dream about bringing my truck down here. People steal all kind of worthless cars down here. So thank goodness my dad lets me keep my truck in the garage at home.
If you find out who has been messing with your truck, Just remember to keep your cool!!!
I don't know much about the situation, but if you can't stop these attacks (and neither can the cops, I suppose ??) then can't you find a couple of old buddys that can?
I'd have to to get radical after the first time, myself.
i have no clue whos doing this since my truck sits behind a business, so theres alot of people on the property through the course of the day. as soon as i can, im getting a flatbed and moving it to my parents house. my moms gonna throw a fit, but thats gonna hafta be tough on her. im not going to have my stuff vandalized even if it is something as simple as messing with the wiring.
I have heard about a new car alarm out there, I think they called it the .44 magnum. hmm, that might deter some vandals. All kidding aside, definately get the police involved in the situation. I hate it when people mess with my stuff.
I hear rot's or pitbulls do a good job of keeping people away. I personally carry a sawdoff shovel handle in my trucks, it's my 'tire pressure checker', heh.
I hate vandals too. I just recently had to start putting my truck in my garage because people had been messing around under my hood as well. Things that dont just happen on their own like disconneted battery cables, and spark plug wires. I've even had swatstikas keyed into the hoods of some of my cars thank God I didn't have my truck around when that happend, and of course the local PD just balmes it on kids. PFF, point being I know how you feel and it sucks because you shouldnt have to have your life be dictated by these losers. I would stake it out before you move it and kick some butt.
Hope you can stop it,
-Chris
well, i use to keep a 1inch metal dowel in both my trucks, weighed about 15lbs at around 16 inches long. i had to pull it on a group of kids once that had me blocked in a parking space. bowling one night. i was also alternating between carrying my 9mm(legally) and my .45 for awhile. i pulled that on a few guys fighting on my truck one night in an alley way and put a few rounds into the ground to scare them away since no amount of screaming could get them to quit. i really dont like being in that kind of situation so i just try and avoid places like that anymore

So you don't have jealous punks after you, huh?
Still, it's a hard row to hoe, I reckon. Maybe you need to hire a fledgling or two for a couple of weeks to keep an eye on it. Might be money well spent. When you find out who it is then maybe the cops will help out. If not…open up a can of good ol’ fashioned whoop### on them. Despite the pacified public, sometimes that’s the only way to end that sort of abuse.
I know I couldn’t tolerate it – and you don’t seem like one to either.
I think your doing the right thing just moveing it asap ,fix what those punks broke and move on so you dont have to stew in your anger. It is frustrateing when people steal or vandalize your own personal stuff and you know there's nothing you can do about it ,so rather than tryin to catch'em red handed and risk more damage ,getting it the heck out of there and gettin over bein ticked off is the best
