So did I... wasn't even thinking about the hurricane....

If I didn't know you two were friends, it would have been a different story... next time, get someone we don't know to post that kind of title!

In any case I hope everyone is OK...

Yea, I was living on a boat visiting my folks in Maryland when what was left of Ivan came over and flooded out a bunch of stuff. Ruined all but a few hours of sailing the bay. The Susquehanna flowed out in to the bay just outside the marina...all kinds of stuff coming with it...no sailing.
Now, back home in Texas....here it comes again. Although......doesnt look like it'll make it this far west.

Hey Peppy, you didn't happen to see a ford factory truck cap from the 70's come floating by, did you? That and my 79 ranger parts truck is all the flood got.
2Bowers, I live right where Hemlock and Fishing creek come together. It's an old 2 story cottage built in 1926. I knew it would flood but I figured it survied the floods of '36 and '72 so what could Ivan do .
I was smart enough when I got up saturday morning and saw how high the water had gotten to move everything upstairs and put the furniture up on saw horses. All I had to do is mop a little mud out and run a couple of dehumidifiers to suck all the water out of the floor and walls. I was VERY luck compared to other folks out there. Good luck to everyone out there.
As far as the fair goes, I wouldn't miss it for the world. But of course, like every year, It's gonna be muddy Oh well. -Dave

Yep. Supposed to hit Louisiana or Texas sometime today. We could do with the rain, but the storms can stay in the Gulf.
