Assuming nothing has been changed from the original build, you have one tough well made truck that should last many more years along with diligent maintenance. It is not as powerful as a 351, but is not as thirsty either. It will do most any task you can ask of a 3/4 ton truck as long as you don't try to trailer another 3/4 ton truck behind it. It will do that too, but the brakes are not quite up to the task unless you have electric trailer brakes. The 3.55 limited slip gear set is probably the best universal gear set for that truck, engine, and transmission combination. What you have is a "real" truck, it is not a "car-truck" or a wimpy hauler, you should be very happy with it!
I hope the tranny's right. I ordered a build sheet for my old '86 Bronco, and they had the wrong tranny listed. It had an NP435, but the sheet said Warner 4 speed. I know it wasn't swapped, because the door post sticker was correct.
Ah, a F250 light duty, more capacity than a f150, without the weight penalties of the HD frame and full floating rear end, but, also without the big rear brakes.
MontanaFord: You're confusing the 435(which is a transmission) with the 203, 205, and 208, which are transfer cases.
Normally, the build sheets are attached to the underside of the fuel tank anyway, unless its been removed somewhere down the road...at least mine were still on the 77 Ford when I dropped the tank last year to remove the water out of it, very interesting information about the building of it...have done the same thing to my old Monti Carlo years ago and it was also on top of the fuel tank, don't know if all autos are like that...but assume they are....or stuck on the back seat between the frame and top seat.(seen them there too when I was younger junking out autos)
