I have a 88 B2 2.9 4x4.
does any one know if there is a adjustment on the fuel infection system on this year bronco 2. or have any ideal what might be making me get low gas milage. This a stock bronco and stock tires, and I get 15mpg, I have a friend that gets 20+ out of a ranger extended cab 4x4, 2.9 stock truck same year. I have repaced a lot on the motor, plugs, plug wires, R cap & button, new exaust and they said the C.converter was fine. and I have taken it to FORD twice and they cant seem to find anything wrong eather. ANY IDEAS WELCOME, Thanks

i had the same thing. put in a new thermo and be ready to break a bolt or to. then pull out your air charge temp sensor or your map sensor and clean it. if you break a bolt on her and cant get it out then get some new grade 8 or stainless bolts and gasket sealer but make skure its glycol resistant and non hardning. get messy with it and put it on the therm housing. let it set for about a min or two so that more stays on and put on. then tighten the to bolts down as tight as you can without stripping it and let it set for atleast 30 mins before you start it or hook the rad up. finish the job and fire her up (after filling rad of corse) and check for leaks.
