Original, or at elast close to original, side mirrors?

Gentlemen,

I pulled off the trailer-hauling mirrorsthis weekend. You konw, those horrible big square things that sit out on tripod frames bolted to the door.

I'd like to put on something that, if not actually original, looks like it's at least from the period and Ford. Not sure if these trucks even had side mirrors originally.

Any ideas?

Oh yea, 79 f250, what else,

Thanks.

Hey, I love those big mirrors. I polished mine up and replaced all the fasteners with stainless. After buffing the mirrors they look great. That is if you like the style. I love being able to see behind me from any angle. No other mirror allows that much rear field of view. And no I don't hall a trailer behind me. JMO.

I installed early 90s Ford on my 76. Purchased the mirrors at the Ford dealers parts dept. They are a quality item, stainless an aluminum and swing away. Look at my gallery.

Ya, the ones Mil1ion and jrsroadhauze have seem to be the stock item. And you can still get them? Excellent. Thanks.

I love those old Trailer special flip out paddle mirrors. I think they look great. They are the best lookng and functioning mirror Ford ever did put on a truck.
But unfortunatley they aren't the best choice for a 4 wheel drive cause the tripod part doen't fold in.

On my old Powerstroke I installed the big paddle mirror on the regular fold in arm. It looked sorta funny but worked good.

Sorry, I did look in the on-line store before suggesting the other. I must have missed them.

The trailer flip outs may not fold back but theyr'e tough. I took a big chunk out of a telephone pole with mine and didn't hurt the truck at all. They don't do well in car washes tho...
