Red face Glow plug leak???

Did a search for glowplug leaks but didn't find anything. It seems as though I am leaking from the glow plug socket on the pass side. It's not pouring out or anything, just wet. Has anyone ever come across this issue,, anything to worry about? The truck is an 04 with only 1200kms, on it so it isn't even close to being broken in yet. I just hate seeing any type of leak with new vehicle. No other problems so far. Thanks

Does your truck have a 03 or a 04 engine. My truck had a 03 engine and had 3 glow-
plug wire harnesses replaced, also a mainseal and a leaking transmission case!
After had been in the shop for more then 3 weeks on and of,I talked to the sales mgr
and traded the truck for a new one,to make me happy.Cost was 30 cent/mile for the
trade-in.

I have an 04 and I noticed that I have wetness on the glow plug harness on the passenger side too. I have 8000 miles on mine now. At 850 miles the turbo went out. The dealer said it was the exhaust bearing.

Yes I had the same problem. I have a 04 4x4 crew cab long bed. Engine is a 3 of 04. Passenger side glow plug sockets were leaking. Dealer replaced both sides under warrenty. Funny thing a few days later the #2 glow plug socket poped off on the drivers side. It didn't leak oil. Plugged it back in and kept going. Looks like one of the sockets is leaking on the right side again. Back to the dealer. I have about 4300 miles on my truck. Bill

They (Ford) are replacing the glowplug harness, and that annoying squeeking belt which I've had from day one. More like a chirping belt. Tech says the wrong belt was put on at the factory. Something to do with the dual alt vs single alt setup. hmmmm

Do Not Fear

You are right, it is leaking from the glow plug harness. I have had mine replaced by two different dealers twice already and now it is going back in Monday for a third time. Dont wipe the oil off, let it look like the Exxon Valdez on the side of your motor-reason being when i took mine in the last time the Ford engineer made up a story about how that was called "Wicking" not a leak, now two weeks later he comes out and says "Oh it is leaking, lets order the new part (which has taken 10 business days to get sofar) and get it fixed. He says wicking, I say LEMON. Make sure they replace BOTH sides if they fix yours. Ford supposedly has a "New harness that will fix he problem".
