I'm going to need new tires on my v10 . what size and brand would guys recommend. thanks
If your truck is a 2wd get Michelin's they are more money but are great and should last the life of the truck if you take care of them.... If it is a 4wd I run BF Goodrich Allterrains and size depends on what your wanting to do. If you want the noise and its a 4wd the BFG Mudterrains are my choice then. I have had all these tires on my personal vehicles and have had great luck with them. There are alot of things that play into getting tires and there is not enough info on what you do with your truck to get more technical.
As a person that has worked in the tire industry for the last 7 years, I have seen all
different kinds of tires blow out, I personally have ran the Firestone Steeltex tires on
my vehicles and they have performed well with the exception of deep mud and snow
due to the fact they have trouble cleaning out when the stuff is deep. My uncle owns
3 wreckers and the only tire that has lasted with the exception of the TOYO M-55
is the Steeltex A/T. All tires regardless of manufacturer blow out. I have seen alot of
top of the line Michelins blown out on trucks and RV's and would not use them. I am
a Vehicle Fleet Manager and I regularly check out tires among other things
When you almost flip a truck because your tires came apart you don't have a lot of confidence in a company. Then when they tell you 3 time there is no recall only to find there is make you very mad! Call the Firestone 800 recall # and you will find Bridgstone and Firestone tires are comming apart. Yes other companies have problems at times but when Ford cuts all ties because Firestone can not get it right you have to wonder. Remember you family's life is riding on your tires! Do you really want to trust a company with the history of Firestone?
My family was riding in a RV, when not just one Michelin came apart but two, no I am
not defending Firestone, but I worked for firestone when Ford recommended 26 psi on
a light truck (Explorer) sometimes it is just not only the tire manufacturer. I did not agree with Ford then and ran all of our customers tires at 32-35 psi being they were P-rated. I am not TAKING sides I am just stating fact that all tires blow out regardless
of the manufacturer. I run Cooper Discoverers and have had good ones and bad ones.

I would also think after that fiasco, Bridgestone/Firestone would have corrected the
problem, I see alot of 3/4-1 ton new chevrolets up here in mt with them on.
Well, you could ask my wife how she felt when her Firestone tire blew out on her Ford Explorer while she traveled down the interstate, after they drilled a hole in her head to correct the problem resulting when she took out the drivers side window with her head. That was, of course, after she rolled two times, landing drivers side down.
