Adding A/C

I have a 47' 1/2 ton and I would like to add A/C and heat so I don't melt driving it. I have no idea where to look for an after market system. My goal is to make it look as it was a factory instalation in the cab.

What motor are you running? Are you 12 or 6 volt? The hot rod sites will show plenty of solutiions. I put a system in my stock 63 F100 with a 223 inline six that came out pretty good. I basically replaced the stock heater unit with an AC/Heat unit from Hot Rod Air that went in the same spot , all you saw afetrwards were the air ducts under the das and the small control panel. I fabbed up my own engine brackets from a kit for a Chevy 6 and it all worked great! (South Texas). Got some pics if interested.

Well, adding A/C to make it look factory in a '47 is a tough one. You can use an art deco style vent, I've even seen '36 Ford horn covers used as the covers for A/C registers. Check out rod magazines especially Street Rodder for ads of places that carry A/C systems. Vintage Air in TX is good, and so is Southern Air. They will be able to supply you w/ the underdash units, and all the stuff, including a new A/C ready radiator.
