my turbo just started making a really loud and high pitched whistle, just started doing it, truck has 80k miles on it. still builds 17 psi without chip same as always.

Exhaust back pressure vavle.

 

That's generally a bad sign. Probably means you cooked a bearing. You'll most likely need to replace or rebuild it.....unless it started making the noise the same day you installed the intake, then it would be a normal sound.
