Would I gain anything other than a lighter wallet and a shiny part under the hood if I was to have an exhaust shop fab up two stainless tubes to replace the acordian plastic ones that run from my air box to the throttle body?

I think it would be worth a shot. I saw a test several years ago on a chevy tbi pickup where they replace the accordion plastic from the air cleaner housing to the fender with a metal tube, and gained several horsepower. It really wouldn't cost that much, and it's always nice to have something else shiny.
