engine problems

im havin problems with the 351 in my 1972 f100 should i rplace it, theres a knocking noise in it. its 4x4 to. its bin sittin for 8 years and just decidid to fix it up

depends on whats knocking. deep knock, yes replace. shallow knock, could be topend since it has been sitting so long. might try changeing the oil a couple times, see if that helps.

My old 71 was idle for about 18 years...I mean it is no hotrod with a 360 and the three on the tree...but it runs fair for its age....I think it has about 83,000 on it now. Of course it is not driven much. A few little odds and ends fixed it up pretty good. Parts wise I replaced just about everything I could touch under the hood. Don' do anything drastic yet...check out the possiblities. It could be an easy fix....!
