lift ?

I have a 2002 f-250 v-10 that has a 4 inch lift with 315 BFG AT's
I also have the stock 3.73 rear end. I have some loss of power while towing (7000lbs) trailer.

I'm looking in to a 2004 f-250 6.0 and I plan on doing the same lift and tire set up. Will this set up be any problem for the 6.0?
Thanks

IMO if you are happy with your current truck but want more grunt for towing, I would consider a gear swap from a 3.73 to a 4.10 or maybe even a 4.56. Changing gears will help compensate for the lift and tires and return your power close to or better than stock. Just my $0.02 - hope it helps.

If your gonna keep the gasser change gears. But the 6.0 should be able to handle the 35"s with a 3.73 ratio very easy IMO.

If you like your truck just swap gears. The 315's will effect the 6.0's response from a dead stop but on the interstate you'll be just fine.

Do not just look at it as a "take off" problem. Remember that, yes the diesel will eventually overcome the resistance of larger tires and gain momentum but....the tranny is working much much much harder than necessary. 37's and above go 4.56's. 35's and below 4.10's. I have the 6liter with 37's and 4.56's. It is better than stock. It revs a little high unloaded (2650 @ 80mph) but when I put a load on it (gettin' a bigger boat soon) it will be perfect.

Joe, Are you saying that your rpm's will change at a given speed with different loads on the truck? I'm not sure I understand how that would happen? If your running 2650 @80mph then you should be the same rpm with 5000# behind you. If I'm missing something please explain.
