lift kit for a f250

My boyfriends birthday is comming up and i wanna get him a liftkit for his truck. Now i have no idea what is a good lift or what i need. I called a local shop that we have and they suggested a "pro comp 6" lift with the fox reservoire shocks and traction bars." What do you guys suggest? is this a good lift? Id appreciate any help!

3 key questions:
1) How much do you want to spend?
2) What size tires does he need/want to clear?
3) How much does ride quality matter? Do you want it more comfortable, harsher, or the same as stock ride?

The cost of the lift doesint matter im looking for the best their is!
the ride doesint matter that much either he is not very fussy
and i believe that the tire he want is a 36" at the most 37"

Hopefully this helps

and I've been waiting for a girfriend that wants to buy me a lift kit cuz that shi* never happens!!.

In all seriousness the biggest decision should be what size lift your going to go with because ALOT of things factor into that. If you go with a big lift there are other things that will need to be modified such as pinion angle, driveshaft lengthening, U-joints binding up and wearing our pre-maturely, bad vibrations while driving, death wobble. The higher you go the more potential for problems such as these UNLESS the kit is done right and all the neccessary Mods are done, but MOST people toss on huge lifts and then the truck drives and rides like crap and actually performs WORSE off-road and on road. To me a 4" lift is great on an already big truck and with just 4" you dont have to make a bunch of changes to the drivelines etc etc. Food for thought. He could run 36's with a 4" lift easily and not have a BIG GAY TRUCK. BTW, a big gay truck are those guys with 10-12" of lift and all chromed out and the truck NEVER leaves the pavement.

i would definitly reccomend something from ICON Vehicle Dynamics. i just referred another member to them. i have them on my 1ton dodge, and i could never of expected a better ride! better than the raptor so far! the raptor has let me down, and hopefully with their new shock package coming out it will be able to keep up. but anyways, they started out doing mainly ford stuff, and their ride quality is next to none, and it they will be able to let you know what size tires you can run (pretty sure you will need a 4.5" lift miminum). but either way, look in to them, im sure any of your local dealers that do installs can get the parts. not sure how much of a lift, or how much you want to spend, or how much the ford leaf springs are compared to the dodge stuff, but it was definitly worth the cost! here is a link!

I put a fab tech 5.5 lift and run 37's and it rides nice with bilstine (sp) shocks. The kit cost 1500 but I put it on myself and it was pretty easy to do. Didn't need longer driveshafts or brake lines. Though the u bolts that came with the kit where to short. Here is a vid of the truck
