Just thought I ask if its reasonable to swap entire frames system from a 66 to mount a 59 body; or is it only able to use 64 models below to aligned cab mounts?
I got a 59 lwb with some off the walk 4x4 conversion that seems unsafe to drive; thought about taking a donor 66 lwb truck frame and drive train to make it better than current;
Customcab, too bad your so far away, I have a 60 long bed frame thats a 2wd that I am no longer going to use, I am not sure on the frame from anything above a 60 as the 57-60 has its own body style as well as the 61-64,5?? I have seen a 57-60 bed on a few 61-62 but the unibody is in there as well. Measure carefully
My frame is finally stripped, can I take some measurements off my 1960 frame for you? I'm sure the biggest challenge is cab/coresupport to fit together on the newer frame. Glad to see you save it from the crusher. -4speed
Thanks for your reply's;
I was looking at a 64 LWB; from a outside looke; looking in through wheel well's they seem to have same cab mount location; I'll probably try to salvage just the front straight axle out of a local junk yard truck if it comes available; Thanks Gack for offering your 60's frame;
I'm just sitting on this truck until I'm finish with my 65 swb. Starting to collect parts and ideals..
Thanks for your insight towards frame difference's from model to model; guys!
