MSD 6A reliability?

MSD 6A reliability?
I have had troulble in the past with the MSD 6A burning out at about 14 months. No help from the company and I feel the replacement unit is going bad too. What kind of experience have you had?

I have only seen that when someone does not ground them with a ground wire that is the same size as the hot wire, and when the ignition system is not pointed down so the moisture can run out of it. Make sure your vehicle does not have electronic issues, like faulty guages or interior lights. That could besomething that is killing your boxes. Overall they are ok boxes. Not the best in my opinion, but better than stock and reliable. I love the jacobs kit. It is water proof, and one of the hottest boxes on the market.

fordgsm is quite correct, in my opinion, in his post. I've a friend who was going thorugh MSD boxes quite quickly UNTIL HE FIXED HIS GROUNDING PROBLEM. As a good rule of thumb, A GROUND MUST BE TO A CLEAN AND BARE SURFACE. As a second rule, the GAUGE OF THE GROUND WIRE MUST BE THE SAME AS THE CUMULATIVE SIZE OF ALL OTHER WIRES IN THE COMPONENT.
