So do I have some of these changes in my truck, I have a 04 F350, with a build date of 02/04 and engine build date of 02/04? The chages say they started in Jan 04.
Looking at the chages made to the EGR system, I posted in Stickey regarding unplugging the EGR. This opens up a new discussion on whether or not 05 owners have risk in unplugging the EGR. Here is a link to the post:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...&page=15&pp=25

It says June 29, 04 as far as I can see (page 3), with serial number 6344943.
So I would say "NO" - only actual MY 2005 trucks have these changes.

OK, But, My engine and truck were built after Jan 04, so if thats correct, then I must have these changes. I need to check my serial number for my engine. Is my engine serial number located on the same sticker as the
build date?

June 29, '04 comes quite a bit later than Jan 04 so your truck wouldn't have these changes. Or am I the one that's confused? (Talking about MY 2005 trucks being built in 2004 is bound to get one of us confused!)
The serial number should be on the label on the FICM cover, yes.
kw5413 - You are correct - the 05 is a smooth outfit. I can't find anything to complain about (except the power seems to be less than the 03 strategy and we know how to fix that).
This may be worthy of its own thread! I just noticed that draining the HFCM will no longer require the little hex wrench and entail diesel fuel running down your arm to your armpit. The new one has a little lever you open and spout to direct the fuel into a container. Can't wait to rub that one in to my friend!

WOOHOO!!! Been waiting for that one! Does it look retrofittable to the earlier ones, like maybe a valve that screws in where the plug used to go? Or a new cover to the little manifold, that will bolt on top of the old manifolds in place of the cover with the plug? Oh please oh please!
