Yikes! Some years ago, before I entered my current trade, I was employed as a fornt end tech by a well known national chain. The accepted norm(as far as the company was concerned) was to sell parts and labour, whether or not the vehicle was within, or close to within spec. It was very common at that time to get a vehicle on the lift, find the ball joints worn but still within spec, and put them as necessary replacement on the est. While thhe family that drove the vehicle in, trusting you to be honest, clearly couldn't afford expensive repairs.
Often, it was mandated by the company to sell, sell, sell! Needless to say, I wasn't there too long, LOL! Just be careful out there........
i bought 430.00 worth of suspension parts and replaced all front components short of the rack and am pleased. I did all work myself,, springs as well and couldn't be happier
Two years ago, I took my car in to the dealer to get an ignition switch fixed. When I came back to pick it up, they told me I needed $2,000.00 worth of repairs. They said I needed an entire new front end, new water pump and brakes.
I told them to put it on the hoist and show me. As it was raised, the service manager could see the tags on the front end parts. You see, I had just replaced the entire front end, brakes and was going to replace the water pump when the ignition switch went.
The red faced service manager lowered the car and accused me of trying to pull something. He asked me to leave and not come back(after I paid for the ignition switch).
",. All I need is the specs on the OEM frame bushings, and sway bar end spindles with bushings. "
If you find a sourceand specs for these bushings other than just the sway bar end kits, pls post. I looked about a year ago, with no luck. Thanks
