Radio/headlights

Any one know of a fix for my 2003 Code 581 AM/FM 6 disc cd, factory radio. The dealer say it checks out ok.
Well if you turn on the headlights I get static and interference on any station that is some what far away. I have to be practically on top of a station to get good reception. Even 18 wheelers cause heavy bussing. On trips the radio is practically un-useable. I disconnected the alternator once and the problem cleaned up, not completely but the radio was useable. It does it on both AM & FM.

i heard the PSD does this or something like that. if you don't have the PSD then i was thinking of something else. i been reading a lot on the forums lately. don't remember why it does it. but maybe someone else can help.

I do have the new 6.0L PSD. I'm not sure what would cause and if it is the PSD, how about the twin alternator units.
