2001 psd tranny slipping

2001 psd tranny slipping
Finished a 30 mile trip today pulling about 5000# trailer and close to home noticed revs were up. When I tried to park I could'nt get it in reverse without reving it up, I'm wondering if it could be electrical since I just replaced my towing plug from a six to a seven?? Or am I looking for a good tranny guy?
PS, I first tried disconnecting batteries to for a minute or two to reset computer but no luck, how long do you have to have disconnected before reset will occur?
