Don - Very nice truck. I especially like what you're doing with the interior. Very clean.
Are you going to put "wings" on the sides of the console face? I like the method you used there as well as the apron at the dash bottom.
Great color!
Randy, To tell the truth I'm having so much fun driving her that I've put every thing on hold till the weather gets bad in late fall. The "plan" is to re-carpet,but first I want to put in a hanging brake pedel, move the master cyl. move the Battery to under the hood. put sides "wings" on the console with some type of storage door built in. Got to get my hands on a peddle assy first. I'm going to follow John' s tech article on that.
Drive it, Baby, drive it.
I hear you on the part about driving it now and work on it later. I bought mine as a daily driver and have been working on it as a rolling resto, so your current plan gets my vote.
Question: I hear a lot of people doing the hanging pedal. Is that just to clean up the floor? Or is there a mechanical reason (advantage) to it? Just curious.
No asthetic or mechanical reason on my part. I just don't want to put a hole
in my new carpet for either the battery or to get to the master cyl. I could go with a remote reservior I guess but it's about the same amount of work. The battery ought to be under the hood anyway, seems the posts always need a little care if nothing else.
Thanks for the nice comments guys. The wheels are an old set of a/r s I've had for years. The color is 03 chrysler Grapite mist. GM Storm Gray is also very close to the same. I've been living in the old truck nearly 2k mile in the last month.
