egr solenoid
Before I replace this solenoid.... I did a vacuum pump test on it,it gets vacuum,but doesn't seem to put any out..it doesn't hold vacuum when I pump vacuum into the bottom or top valves does this mean its no good ??

Just replace the whole EGR unit. When this thing goes bad, you could end up spending weeks diagnosing the engine. I don't know what the original problem is, but my 85 BII had overall poor performance. I spent weeks (one day a week) tuning the carb, new plugs and wires, blah blah ... Turned out the EGR was clogged with carbon and failed. Bought a new valve ('cuz your not suppose to clean it ,just replace) and found the bad valve killed the solenoid. Just change 'em both and start at square one. Hope this helps.
