I have a 1969 Ford F250 with a newly rebuilt 360 in it with a mild cam and open headers right now. I am looking to put exhaust on it in the near future so I am able to drive it without being pulled over. I was wondering what you guys recommend for this. I would like something that is not too terribly loud when your easy on the throttle but something that really screams when you get on it. Also, I want something that when it is idling it has that really deep tone that almost hurts your ears when your really close to it. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
It may not sound deep Right at the tail pipes but step back about 5 feet and you should feel it. You could also add 4"x24" tips, they really enhance the lows
Will that setup give me the really deep rumble at idle??
It will if you mount the GPs up by the headers, and have as much pipe as possible behind them. The more pipe, the deeper the sound.
Want a really deep rumble? Go with 3" pipe after the GPs, it will rattle windows at idle, yet be very quiet in actual volume. Its all reverberation from the huge pipes.
Ok, question about the glasspacks. What size glasspacks do you recommend for the best low rumble. I am thinkin about getting the glasspacks with 3" core.
