hoods not cooperating

hoods not cooperating

i took the hood off my 49 f-1 and did some minor body and primer on it about 1 year ago. went to put it back on and its not fitting real well. its about
1 1/2" too wide and not sure how to reshape it without screwing it up. i didnt do any work to that area just think it kind of flattened out. any ideas?

1 1/2" ?? Something sure has changed. Was the hood fitting before you did the repair work?

It didn't have little tennis shoe tracks on top of it, did it?

yeah, it did fit at one time. i think it just flattened out while laying around.
has anybody had this happen?
