They get great gas mileage compared to our trucks and have 4x4 too. A lot of people out here that are against diesel trucks and bigger vehicles, recreational vehicles or anything that is deemed ecologically wasteful, drive them here it seems. Sorry, I guess the funny part is that you would have to live here to understand it.
In New Jersey they have now passed a law that prohibits diesels from idling more than 3 minutes. If you get gaught, there is a fine and if you get caught in a parking lot the owner of the lot gets a fine also. How crazy is that?

How do the Long Line trucks do in the truck stops, when they run the rig for 'hours' at a time for A/C and such..

we understand there's a lot of odd thinking in NJ... starting at the top - the governor
Sorry, you had to expect that one
And jasfaa...
I WAS intending that as a joke ---
meaning the experts have as many opinions as we do I just chose the viewpoint that matched MY argument
(like a lot of "expert testimony" seems to be... )

And I did not want to offend you if it wasn't. Glad it was.

Hey, I agree 100%. This law is just stupid at best. It maybe a noise pollution issue. I will have to do some more research on it. It is similiar to states that have laws requiring people to wear seat belts but not require Motorcycle drivers to wear helmets. I will have to see what they are doing at the truck stops. My guess is this is a selectively enforced law.
