Getting ready to order a worker.............

I currently drive a 02 F250 4x4 with 5.4, 6 spd and reg. cab. I need a little more cargo room and I'm seriously thinking about getting a F350 with "bed delete" in order to get a wider cargo bed (no wheel wells) and maybe an extra foot (?) in length.

My question is will the 05 350 with no bed be exactly the same as the one with a bed? Will it come with all the lights? Will it have the 4" blocks in the rear? I need the extra height in the rear to line the truck up with my loading dock at my warehouse.

I'm going to call my dealer this week to see about this and would like any and all info from you guys before I call. I want a 350 4x4 with 5.4 (that's all the power I need, PSD and v10 guys ) I want the 6 spd and not many additional options other than AC, would the XLT be a good choice?

Thanks for any help.

I'm sure that you'll be able to get everything the you are looking for from the dealer.

But I belive that the XLT has all the power locks, window etc.
With the XL you can order it with AC and it should come manual locks, windows etc.

*bump*

I guess there just isn't much interest in a work-type truck?

id think it woulld be the same with or without bed (I used to work for the local conservation district we bought 5 new f350's We were going to do bed delete, and would have saved 500, but a local bodyshop bought our beds for 900 apiece)

anyway, yes, all wireing and whatnot should be there, what sort of bed are you thinking about?

I'm going to build a wooden (PT of course) one cab high to use to haul appliances and furniture. The wheel wells make it diffucult to get much on volume-wise and I'll get a little extra width and length as well. I still want to use it for personal use like a regular pickup and have no need for DRW.

I'm hoping it will sit as high as the regular 350 in the back because my 250 sits just slightly below my loading and I need it to be a few inches higher to use my dock plate.

I understand that not many in this forum have any interest at all in the type of truck I'm talking about so thanks for your help.

from my understanding the frame is different on bed delete models. it is a little different to accomodate aftermarket utility beds but i think it is a minor difference. everything else should be the same. all the wiring will have to be there. they usually come with temporary lights etc. and will need the wiring for what ever type of aftermarket bed is added. if you custom make your bed just adjust the level of the bed to where ever you want it. you dont have to adjust the suspension just adjust the thickness of the bed a couple of inches. that way you can make it line up exactly to what ever height you need. jsut a thought!!! good luck

If you're worried about enough height, to match your dock, you could shim your bed to exactly a good height, right? A custom wood box, that's cool.
