I Have a 86 Ford Bronco Full size with a custom 332 engine and a AOD trans. Attach to that is a Borg-Warner 1345 Transfer Case. The case is make noise now and look like it's about to go out.
My Question is, Can I put on a borg-warner 1356 to a AOD transmission and will the driveline line up with my 9inch axle in the rear and independ axle in the front? Or sould I just fix the 1345. I am willing custom my whole driveline if possible.
the 1356 will mate up to the AOD tranny. just not sure about the axles. if they are factory i would think they would. my 89 has the AOD and BW1356 combo
They are practically the exact same tcase. The only difference is the chain width on the inside. You will have to make sure the one you get came out of a bronco as the truck ones had a slip yoke rear output.
I am not sure but if the two t-cases are not the same length you will need a new drive-shafts. Again, I am not sure so I would ask around a little bit too see.
